This session will be an overview of the language access issues aspect of equity and inclusion. Following these principles will enhance Title VI compliance, build better relationships with the community, and lead to better results in treatments and educational settings. Hispanic students have twice the dropout rate as white students. Could language access improve this situation? Are other communities also affected this way?
Interpreting and translation are a challenge, and have a monetary cost. However, what are some principles to get consistent quality results? Would spending the money wisely save money over time? The presenter will provide some examples of organizations that are providing language access services outside the legal, educational and medical settings.
